HOW TO PLAY

Can you cook harder than the AI?
The goal
• You and an AI opponent (or a real recorded "ghost" player) get 30 seconds to build a beat out of the same material.
• Both beats get scored with the exact same formula. Highest score wins the round.
The 30-second buildsplit into three 10-second sections: Intro → Build → Drop
• Pick which layers — drums, chords, bass, melody — are turned on in each of the three sections. A track that builds up (fewer layers in the intro, more by the drop) scores a variety bonus over one that's flat the whole way through.
• Tap a section pill anytime during the build to jump there and toggle its layers.
Beginner vs Advanced mode
• Beginner: pick one preset per layer (a drum pattern, a chord progression, a bass style, a melody) — fast, no music theory needed.
• Advanced: program every layer yourself — a 16-step drum grid, chord slots, bass/melody piano rolls, and per-layer filter/reverb — for full control over the sound.
• Either mode, you can also upload your own audio in the Music Library and assign it to a layer instead of a preset — or extract a stem (bass/chords/melody/drums frequency band) from a track you upload.
Scoring, roughly
• More active layers per section score higher, up to a point — a section crammed with every layer isn't automatically the best.
• A good note/beat density (not too sparse, not overstuffed) earns a bonus each section.
• Varying which layers are active across the three sections (an actual arc, not the same thing three times) earns an extra bonus on top.
Opponents
• AI tiers — Newbie, Rookie, Pro, Legend — each play a randomized but tier-appropriate arrangement, so it's not the identical opponent every match.
• Ghost challenges (from the Leaderboard screen) — replay a real recorded human round instead of the AI, toggle-for-toggle, and try to beat their score.
Wallet, leaderboard & minting
• Connect MetaMask (Profile tab) to save your best score per difficulty to the shared leaderboard — everyone's scores are recomputed and verified server-side, not just trusted from the browser.
• After a round, you can mint your beat as an NFT on Monad testnet — you own it, with a 5% creator royalty baked in for any future resale.
• Right after minting you can list it for sale in MON on the 🛒 Marketplace tab — a 5% creator royalty and 2.5% platform fee are paid automatically out of every sale, the rest goes to the seller.
